Sai Sai Review #1
Review of some new products I bought at Sai Sai, Camden. I have many more items but I will review those separately as they need to be fetched home/dry cleaned/ironed before I can photograph them.

Welcome to my Sai Sai Review! For those of you who don’t know Sai Sai, it is a shop in Camden (a town in London, UK) that sells a variety of gothic, visual kei, and lolita clothes.
A note of caution about Sai Sai. Don’t expect to be dazzled by their quality designs or thrilled by their prices. The prices are quite steep considering the quality on a few pieces is terrible. I have been disappointed on a couple of occasions, but they do seem to be improving! Fingers crossed…
This is a mainly positive review of some good stuff I have got from there lately. I will also review some terrible stuff for balance, and take some store photos when I am ready.

I bought this blouse because I desperately needed a black blouse. It’s true black, not grey like it looks in the picture. I was bargain hunting, I confess, and I got this for £29 (approx $45 USD) which I thought was a good price for what it is. Yes, the label says XL. Shut up.

It came with a detachable neckline type-thing that ties around the collar. The ribbons are a nice satin, not too shiny, and the buttons on the blouse are heart shaped :3

I tried to take a close-up of the lace. It is soft but quite thin; it doesn’t have the scratchy quality of some lace, but it is quite fragile and doesn’t have the same pretty effect of that crochet lace you get on some items. It’s not that nasty raschel stuff, it’s like softer and floppier than that.

This…is a headband. Not quite sure what to say about it! I have a headdress already, so I just wanted something simple for when I want to dress things down a little. It is sturdy and well made, the stitching is tight, and it lies nice and flat.

Handbag time!! I absolutely adore this bag. It is probably a bit rip-offish of AP’s piano handbags, but I don’t care. The thing I like about it is that it is sturdy, heavy cotton, with studs on the base to allow it to stand. It has like a definite shape to it. I have bought crappy bags from Sai Sai before which I will photograph one day, and this one doesn’t feel like one. It feels well made.

The straps are thick and strong. They feel like a hard plastic, but they aren’t leather. At least it’s not that terrible pleathery stuff, I can’t stand that.

Perhaps my favourite purchase of the day!! This only cost me £10 ($15 USD) and I am so happy with it because I desperately needed a cardigan. It is cut just under the bust, and is pretty flattering. The only slight issue I have is the fact that the sleeves are puffed and I am worried they make me look like a rugby player, but that’s more a figure issue than an issue with the product itself. The pattern is some Engrishy text but it looks lovely. The lacey bits, again, is like raschel but softer and less sticky-up. It also isn’t pretending to be lace, it’s more like a thin netted fabric ruffle with dots on it.

More lace close-ups! See what I mean about the ruffles?

Socks! These are a nice, thick, soft cotton with slight ruffles at the top. I confess, I haven’t tried these on yet, but they feel stretchy and lovely.

More socks! Because who can honestly say they have enough socks? Not me, that’s for sure. Again, these are stretchy and soft, and I really like the pattern on the ankle!

Some nice hair bows. I bought these to go with my cardigan. Spoilers, I have a difficult relationship with those gigantic hair bows you usually see with Lolita. Mostly because I haven’t seen any nice ones that would go with the sorts of things I usually wear. I sort of think they would suit a cuter girl than me! But I don’t have the confidence to wear them. I prefer twin bows :3

They are just mounted on clips so they’re nice and easy to wear.
Thank you for reading! I am going to review some more of my bigger things, as well as the crap things I have bought from Sai Sai. Also, tomorrow I have a day off work, so I will probably do some camwhoring and show you the clothes in action :D
Thank you! ^-^
